Inside this custom ceramic paint pan is the pigment from young Dyer's Polypore mushroom (Phaeolus schweinitzii), which I foraged for in Washington. The pigment was extracted as a lake pigment and carefully mixed into a smooth watercolor paint reminiscent of the Pacific Northwest forests and fungal community.

Paint stones are approximately the size of a half-pan watercolor.

Ingredients: Dyer's Polypore lake pigment & watercolor binder (gum arabic, honey, & clove oil).

Check out the tutorials section to learn more about working with natural paints and how they were made.
